Interlibrary Loan PoliciesMaterials Generally NOT Available Through Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan may NOT be used to obtain copies of current textbooks.Interlibrary Loan is an agreement between libraries which may be rescinded at any time. The lending library may set limitations or restrictions on loans. If "For Library Use Only" or other restrictions are specified, they must be honored. Most libraries do not permit renewal of Interlibrary Loan items. For this reason, be sure to place your requests so that you will not receive too many items at one time. Interlibrary Loan staff reserves the right to refuse Interlibrary Loan service to any patron who may jeopardize our agreements by violating lending libraries' stipulations. Source of Reference"Reference" refers to the source where you originally learned about the item you are requesting. This reference proves the existence of and augments the accuracy and completeness of your citation, which in turn increases the likelihood of your request being filled. The National Interlibrary Loan Code, section 9, item 2, requires a Source of Reference, or the lending library does not have to honor your request: "If this provision is disregarded and the bibliographic data appear to be incorrect, the request may be returned unfilled without special effort to identify the reference." Loss/DamageYou, the borrower, are financially responsible for any damage to or loss of interlibrary materials, from the time you pick them up until you return them to library. You are also responsible for damage caused by photocopying, even if no specific photocopy restrictions are noted on the material. Should any damage occur, report it to the ILL Department. Do not attempt to repair it yourself. For more information, please contact: Ann Blakely, 918-631-3061Head of Reference |
